Bar Person / Front of House

You will be part of a well-respected bar & restaurant with rooms in the Vale of Glamorgan serving high-quality food, using locally sourced & seasonal produce. You will be a bar person passionate about maintaining a professional front of house. 

We are looking for a friendly, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to maintain a professional front of house, serve our customers and support our waiting staff. You will greet customers, handle payments, maintain cleanliness of our bar area and prepare and serve beverages.

To succeed as a bar person, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.

  • Cellar management

  • Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.

  • Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons.

  • Maintaining a clean bar area, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.

  • Supporting waiting staff as required during busier times.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience of working behind a bar

  • Meets the minimum age to serve alcohol as required by law.

  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.

  • Basic math, telephone and computer skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
